What is the Mayer Multiple?
The Mayer Multiple, created by investor Trace Mayer, is simply the Bitcoin price divided by its 200-day moving average. A value of 1.0 means the price is exactly on its average; 2.0 means it is twice the average.
How to read it
Historically, readings below 0.8 marked deep bear-market value, while readings above 2.4 appeared during speculative bubbles. Most of the time the multiple moves between about 0.8 and 1.8. The tiles above the chart show today’s value and the prices that would equal 0.8× and 2.4× the average.
